Porcelain Veneers.

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They change shape, color, and proportion in as few as two visits. Dr. D'Alesio designs every case around your facial features and natural tooth structure so the result looks genuinely like you — just more confident. Because we start with a Digital Smile Design preview, you approve the outcome before any preparation begins.

If you've been holding back your smile in photos or covering your mouth when you laugh, veneers might be worth a conversation. We design every case around how you actually look — not a template.

What a veneer actually is

Think of a veneer as a thin porcelain facing — roughly the thickness of a contact lens — that we bond to the front of your tooth. It covers discoloration, reshapes uneven edges, and closes gaps. The tooth underneath stays mostly intact. We only remove a very thin layer of enamel, which is one reason this approach is so popular with patients here in Munhall and across Pittsburgh who want a noticeable change without aggressive treatment.

What to expect, visit by visit

1

Design consultation

We take photos, do a digital scan, and build a preview of your result on screen. You see the proposed shape and color before anything touches your teeth. Nothing moves forward until you're comfortable with the plan.

2

Preparation and temporaries

Dr. D'Alesio lightly preps the tooth surface — removing about half a millimeter — and places temporary veneers while the lab crafts your final set. You leave with a working smile that day.

3

Delivery and bonding

Your custom porcelain veneers come back from the lab, we try them in, adjust the fit and bite, and bond them into place. We polish everything and walk through aftercare before you head home.

How we design them to look like yours

Cookie-cutter veneers have a reputation for looking a little too white and a little too uniform. We use Digital Smile Design to map your facial proportions, lip line, and existing tooth structure before choosing size, color, and shape. The goal isn't dramatic — it's natural. Many patients tell us their friends notice something is different but can't quite place what changed.

Common Questions

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With good home care, most veneers last 10–15 years or longer. The main things that shorten their lifespan are grinding at night and habits like biting nails or chewing on pens. If you grind, we'll talk about a nightguard — it's a simple way to protect the investment.

Will they look fake?

That's the most common concern I hear. The answer really depends on how they're designed. We use a digital preview so you can see the shape and color before we do anything — and we adjust until it looks right to you. Our goal is always that your friends notice you seem happy, not that they notice your teeth.

Does it hurt?

I'll be honest — I'm not a big fan of getting dental work myself, so I take this question seriously. The prep appointment uses local anesthetic, so you shouldn't feel the work while it's happening. Some sensitivity for a few days after is typical; it settles down on its own.

Can I get veneers on just one or two teeth?

Yes. Some patients come in with one chipped or discolored tooth and want it to match the rest. We match the porcelain color closely to your natural teeth so the single veneer blends in. We'll show you what that looks like in the design preview first.
